Yup. I can understand where OP is coming from.

Ha. I get that question a lot. No one can afford that. It's insane. You pay what you can for 7 years until it falls off is the only response I have to that question.

Most people don't pay their hospital bills. Not saying the poster didn't pay hers, but where I work, only 40% actually pay their bills. And a lot of the time hospitals aren't willing to work with you, especially if they're for profit. My bills have gone to collections because I couldn't pay what they wanted when they wanted. I just paid what I could.

You're in a very delicate place. When your baby gets better and comes home and normal life sets in, you'll probably understand better where those people are coming from. Breaks are a good thing. Breaks keep people sane.

Same here. The hospital was never rude about it or anything, because.. well, how can you really, logically expect someone who can't afford health insurance to pay 65,000 in medical bills? Ha. But they couldn't really work with me much. I tried having medicaid back-pay and got denied for some bull-smurf reason. I didn't plan my pregnancy, obviously, or else I'd have waited to have insurance. But to be frank, had I had it, I still probably wouldn't have been able to pay the bill! I was eighteen! Lol

Medical bills are outrageous. I have health insurance this time around, but it doesn't cover smurf.

I didn't say breaks were a bad thing, i know ill want breaks too. What im saying is i know people who barely have their kids and go out 3 nights a week, and still complain. Its selfish and idc if anyone disagrees with me. My daughter is 6 days old and still has a while in the NICU they want give us an estimate better than, "could be another week, or months, it depends on her"

i hope your baby can come home soon!

I understand that it's frustrating to see that, but worry about you and your daughter. Fretting about how other people parent (or don't) is going to do nothing productive.

Sending lots of positive thoughts to you and your little one, and hope that you're able to have her with you soon.

You're assuming they're never around their kids. They're also going out at NIGHT. meaning they're not missing out on anything while their children are awake.

I can understand your frustration.

Unfortunately, that is the best answer they can give you. Her discharge depends on her progress. I wish you the best.

I do too, and so far, I've been pretty pleased with it. We'll see when I get the hospital bill though... haha.

Try not to focus on the date she'll be able to come home. I know it's hard. It's so, so hard. But it only stressed me out more to obsess over when he'd be able to come home. I took victory in small steps. Breathing on his own. Gaining weight. Going into a normal crib. Every baby step is a huge victory toward coming home so focus on those rather then the end result. Good luck.
