If you're not pumping and feeding baby, then don't pump. If you stimulate your supply, your body will continue to produce. Buy some cabbage leaves, break up the veins and place them in your bra.

If you aren't breast feeding you are just going to draw it out by pumping.

Put on a sports bra (or two) with some ice packs and the milk should dry up within a week. Cabbage leaves work too.

I agree with this. Pumping will only stimulate your body to make more milk, causing the drying up process to take even longer.

Why not just pump for LO until you can't get any anymore or until it gets old and feed it to him?  I guess I don't understand why waste such perfect milk

No stop! I am doing my OB clinical rotation and they said no stimulation or you will continue to produce milk. Even warm water hitting your breasts is a big no if you are not breast feeding you will just draw out the pain.

Then your body will keep on producing...

There are a lot of people that don't like breastfeeding. To each their own. Like I guess half the people that leave our hospital don't, which just seems so crazy to me too.

Im not breast feeding because I take meds that will harm my son if he drinks my milk and hes lactose intolerant

You don't need to explain yourself. But seriously no pumping, it is just prolonging it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but... Doesn't being lactoseintolerant have nothing to do with breast milk? Isn't it not lactose? I'm not argue because I understand the medication thing I'm just.curious?

It is produced in the breast and is independent of the mother's consumption of lactose. It is present in a constant concentration in breastmilk. Foremilk, the milk the baby gets when he first starts to feed, does not contain more lactose than hindmilk, but it does contain l ess fat
