they might be fuller but that's it milk doesn't come in till after the baby is born and you really shouldn't be trying to hand express at 27 weeks unles you want to go into labor early.

It's not milk, its colostrum. And squeezing a little is not going to induce labor lol

YES! I'm assuming it's because this is my second baby, my breasts know what they're doing and jumped the gun a little bit. Happened super early too, started noticing colostrum at about 18 weeks.

It super uncomfortable. I'm not allowed to express at all because I've been trying to halt preterm labor (32 weeks now) and they're concerned about nipple stimulation causing contractions, so I'm basically stuck with pressure and leaking. Warm compresses help a bit. Hang in there mama!

that is what I was saying you shouldn't have enough colostrum to make you feel full enough to need to hand express that feeling comes after your milk has come in it's probably just the feeling of your boobs being fuller in preparation for after your baby is here if it is bugging you that bad talk with your doctor cause maybe you have a clogged duct

Really not a good idea so early.
Manual expression causes your body to release oxytocin and prostaglandins and besides, you're just stimulating your breasts to make more. Have you tried using heat to help relieve your discomfort instead? Or ice packs? I can imagine you can give cabbage leaves a go as well.

Lol Nipple stimulation is what can cause early labor, expressing isnt going to hurt.

Cabbage leaves tend to dry up milk, will that make a difference now?

I was thinking the same, my boobs are like I got this! They're ready to go lol
I had preterm labor with my first.. No nipple stimulation or sex. I'm completely healthy this time though

Then if it doesn't cause problems why do doctors say not to do it I have suffered with pre-term labor my first pregnancy and this one and they said no to any and all stimulation which includes hand expressing, pumping and playing with your nipples.

filling breast is just part of pregnancy. Nipple stimulation releases oxytocin.. which pretty much is the natural form of Pitocin.. that they use to induce labor. It can cause preterm labor. please stop expressing milk

I don't think it will cause any issues long term. She'll still make milk when baby is born and the placenta detaches. It'd be safer to use cabbage leaves than manually express it.

You probably know this, but unless there is a reason to think you might have some trouble with pre-term labour, expressing is fine. Many of us breastfeed through pregnancy without a problem and that is much more stimulation then a little expressing  .

I didn't feel the need to express during either pregnancy. My breast may have felt fuller during my first pregnancy but not my second (they went down in size because of the drop in milk production).

you won't be LOL when you have a NICU baby because you put yourself into labor. it's actually pretty much the only natural thing you can do that actually works to start labor... you really should stop

Nope, it's the same feeling I got after I stopped nursing my son.. I just needed to release a little. They soften up tremendously.. Either way it helps
