5 weeks pp, diet, exercise and staying home!
posted 9th Feb
I'm 5 weeks PP and cannot seem to get motivation to eat right and do anything productive... I still have three weeks of maternity leave and really wanted to be wearing normal pants when I go back to work. But it's the middle of the winter, I have three kids, a newborn who cluster feeds all day and hardly anytime to do laundry or dishes let alone any sort of exercise...
Tips on keeping motivated and stop picking all day long?
I keep giving myself excuses, like oh I need to eat more for milk and I haven't gone to the doctors yet...

My fitness pal! Not only is it great to write what you eat (I like to put it in before I eat it to discourage any high calorie splurge meals) but you can stay motivated by adding other moms who are shedding the baby weight too. You get notified when someone completes their food diary under their calorie goal and when they work out to keep each other motivated. Plus, you can enter in your own home recipes to get exact calorie counts from that! It has been a life saver for me. I spent 8 months thinking the way you are right now and with one month of doing MFP and really just holding myself accountable I lost 9 pounds! And I also like how after you finish a day's worth of calorie charting it says if you ate like today everyday you would weight "x amount" in 5 weeks. Great motivation. and wow, holy ramble. haha! whoops

I used to use that actually. I just downloaded again, but any tips on how to make it work while nursing? 1400 calories just isn't going to cut it with a baby attached to me! Lol
