I had Paragaurd. Loved it while I had it. Been a living hell since I got it out. Don't get an IUD if you plan on having more kids in the next 5 years.

Paraguard is the non-hormonal IUD... you're thinking of Implanon

I had the Paragard and after 5 months of non stop bleeding I had it removed 4 days ago. Other than that I did not have any side effects while I had it so if it hadn't been for the bleeding I would have kept it.

I had Mirena and hated every minute of my life while I had it. It made me feel like I was pregnant. I have since learned that many women experience this.

I didn't have any issues with Mirena until I got it removed and experienced what they call "Mirena crash" where your hormones go completely haywire. It was very, very difficult for me to lose weight though, and I think that had something to do with the Mirena.

I plan on more kids but not anytime soon ill only be 28 in 5 years soo i think it'll a good time frame for me.  

Honestly, it all depends on your body. I've had the Mirena for over 3.5 years and have had absolutely no issues. My aunt also had it and after removal was able to get pregnant after trying for only a couple of months.

NO!!!! don't tell me that lol this is why i'm thinking the paraguard might be my best bet...

btw why has it been so bad after getting it removed????? why did you get it removed????

my doctor said most women don't get a period at all with an IUD.. or maybe that's just with the Mierna.....

That's what I'm going for after this one. My mom just went through breast cancer and we're both estrogen/progesterone receptive, so I'm really trying to stray away from any added hormones. Plus- I think I might lose weight easier! Like seriously, in the first 6 weeks after my son, before BC, I lost like 25 pounds. I got on Mirena and didn't lose the last 25 for two and a half years... and I dieted and worked out like CRAZY!
