birth control

I just had a baby on Jan 6th my 6 week check up is coming up and I want to go on birth control ..... I wanted to know what type of birth control would any one recommend .?

I'm going on Paraguard.

I just advise AGAINST Depo. Hated it. I've had problems with pretty much all hormonal BC.

Yes, the Depo sucks and I would not recommend it to anyone. I was also on Paragard but just had it removed 4 days ago. I spent the whole 5 months I was on it bleeding nonstop and could not handle it any more so I had it taken out. Other than that I did not have any side effects with it.

Not the depo. I got pregnant on it.... the periods after are hell, and it's known to mess up your cycle for up to three years after you stop it.

Its this little thing that looks like a match stick that they put in your arm and lasts up to 3 years.

Well, out of the 3 that I have been on I liked the pill the best. I was on a generic brand called Aviane. I was on it for years and never had any issues with it whatsoever. No weight gain, no mood swings, nothing at all. If I was allowed to take it again(cant take estrogen because of health issues) I would go back on that one. Now I just have to hope condoms and spermicide work since the Depo and Paragard sucked and I will not do Implanon or Mirena.

thank you, I just had a baby girl and I really want to stay protected against getting pregnant again right now. i just can't see myself using a iud I much rather take the pill

I hear ya! My health issues started at 4 weeks pp with my youngest(now 13 months old) and my OB refused to put me on any birth control until they figured out what was going on. Our protection failed and I ended up pregnant again around 8-10 weeks pp. It was pretty scary since I would have two kids that were 10-11 months apart on top of having two older kids. Unfortunately, I lost the baby in the second trimester so I never had to find out what it would have been like. Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you.
