I never have anyone tell me "Oh, your name is made up. Disgusting. Blahblah" nothing like that. The most people say that is close to offensive is "I've never heard that before" or "Interesting". Just saying I doubt if you were to name your daughter Anyanka that she would ever get anything worse than that.

Are you russian? I know the etymology but have never seen that name used in russian culture before. I dont care for it, I prefer anushka or anastasia with the nickname anya.

The name Anya IS Russian, but Anyanka is NOT...Anya is Russian for Anna. I personally love the name Anya, but don't like Anyanka so much.

I honestly thought it was pronounced Anja(Anya) and Bianca put together. But then again I've never seen Buffy so I really don't know how you pronounce that and I'd be nervous to try it out loud. My name is very common and I still get people thinking its pronounced like Gina.

It sounds more an (on) yanka (yonka)

I don't think I've been around as long as you, but I'm going on two years (and lurked for like 5 months before that) and I've seen her be nice like 4 times, if that, lol.
