Need help from CMAs!

I'm trying to help my sister prepare for her CMA exam. We are focusing on math because that is her greatest weakness. But I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly how math will be presented on the exam. She believes that there is a portion on the exam that is dedicated entirely to math. But looking at the exam outline, the only section I can find that explicitly refers to math is Section III W #2 a. Calculation of dosage. That seems like a very, very small portion of the exam.

If you can recall, what was the math portion of your CMA exam like?

It would probably be similar to a nurses dose calc.
It is really easy stuff.

Though I would assume CMA's don't do IV flow rates.

She has every type of conversion calculation in her notes. I just don't want her to put 75% of her study time into memorizing and applying the conversions if it's only 2% of her test, and not what she's best at.

When I took mine there wasn't a lot of math and what there was was like ... Mr jones needs 25mg of this drug and you have a 50 mg tab, how many pills will be given ?

So there was no portion of the test that was strictly math? My sister says she's taken the whole practice test on the AAMA website but I don't know where she's getting that a big portion of the exam is nothing but math. I think she may be using that as an excuse to fail it. She's terrified of taking the exam and has pretty much accepted that she's going to fail. I think she's too scared to even try. This kind of thing has crippled her her whole life.  

f there is math it is not much at all, and it's nothing overly complicated ( at least not here in Kansas and this place is supposed to be one of the more anal about healthcare states) . My class was terrified of the exam because the class was actually a lot harder then the exam, we were literally over prepared in retrospect. We actually had 3 people drop out the day after they took the chapter test in class for the cardio drugs. One literally turned in her test and walked out crying never returned and the other two came back after the teacher talked with them.

She needs to just calm down and realize she probably has this test in the bag

I sure hope so. My dad just signed her up for a test prep site which has an unlimited number of CMA practice exams and I'll be able to follow her progress with those and figure out where she needs to focus. Thank you for the reassurance!
