any tips?

DS is almost 5 months and we're finally transitioning him into the crib in his own room. However, he's not having it. He'll sleep for like an hour and wake up. And he won't just fuss he is like screaming. Then it takes forever to get him back down. He's fine napping during the day in there but at night its a different story. I'm not comfortable with CIO. Any suggestions to make this a little easier? And any non CIO tips?

where was he sleeping before? DS is 3 months old, we started out co-sleeping and we are now transitioning to his crib in his own room. Most of the time if we put him in the crib when he gets sleepy, then shush him and rub him and play the music mobile for him then he goes to sleep. I try to let him fuss until he gets to what I call full-on cry mode, then I pick him up, calm him down and lay him back down. It's worked pretty well for us.

He was in his bassinet next to our bed. I'll have to try laying him down before he falls asleep but usually that doesn't work.
