I've never had a party at Chuck E Cheese..

So I've never thrown a party at Chuck E Cheese and today is my son's Birthday..We have every plan on just going there since it's only him and one of his friends (so only 2 kids) but DH somehow managed to invite some of his friends and I already knew that my best friends were coming because they are like family to LO and my mom and sister were gonna be there..

should I call (I know it's a little short with it being today) and reserve a party table or should I just go with my original plan and just take him and his friend there, order pizza's and just let them play?....I'm sure they'll have tables open since it is only gonna be around 12ish...what do you think?

They will probably be very busy. It's a weekend. Everysingle time I have gone on a weekend they are so packed you can barely walk.

They won't let you reserve a table without purchasing a party. What I've done in the past when I wanted to do my own thing is go ahead of time with a couple people and claim a few tables (put some stuff on them) so that there were places to sit during the party.

Saturdays at chuck e cheese are insane, like literally shoulder to shoulder at the one here. I'd just go with the original plan but be prepared that you might not even get a table

I would call ask how busy it is state exactly how many are coming so they can tell me if I need to just come in or actually have someone reserve a table but anytime you bring in more than five adults to a restraunt and more than three kids you should reserve anyway regardless of who is eating

Our Chuck E Cheese just closed in December. But they always had open tables. But I've been to other CEC in other parts of the country and have seen them so busy it's ridiculous. I think it depends where you live, but I doubt they would let you reserve a table for today.

I wouldnt go to chuck e cheese on a saturday, nevermind trying to have a party there without a reserved party table..

u cannot reserve for a party the day of...... and you have to book a party to have any reserved seating, otherwise its open seating....first come , first serve!

Just call see what time, if any they have open...

I do this all the time on my kids actual bday, we think were just going for *us* and my husband invited everyone...

They want u to throw party, because they charge by the kid, go online and get coupons...

Thinking about going to chuck e cheese on a Saturday makes me want to throw up. I hate chuck e cheese birthday parties. I doubt they'll even have open tables!

I never had a problem reserving lol... its waaay easier than any party I have thrown at home or park... I love it...as long as ur willing to pay and we tip good... because I haaaaate having parties... I sit around with my glass of wine and bullsmurf while the party person runs around like a crazy woman messing with balloons and tokens lol

You can't have alcohol at the one in New Orleans anymore.   Really takes away from the parental experience (NO we didn't get drunk at the childrens bday party for those itching to jump down my throat) but I totally agree. We never had an issue reserving and the party was great it's just absolute madness in that place. Kids from wall to wall.
