Driving Ban

So smurfing crazy.

First time since 1978 they have done this. You CANNOT drive. Since 4pm yesterday, and its still going on. You will get $500 fine and 1 year in jail, for driving on ANY road.

Yeah its snowy, yeah it sucks, but come on now, I have smurf to do! I dont feel like walking.

my husband is working. he went in yesterday at 6 am, and will be working until tomorrow. he had to drive to a different house this morning at 7 and the roads were crazy, and he was just going from charlestown to dorchester.

i can see some people needing to goto work but her work is a damn store.. nobody is going to be like oh hey lets go eat and shopping

my stepmoms trying to get to the hospital so she can help out her employers who had to stay there over night

my MIL is a nurse at a big hospital in boston -- she went in to work yesterday at 3, and isnt leaving until tomorrow. they're giving them 6 hour sleep breaks in empty hospital beds.

How on earth can they insist on medical or emergency service people not driving/getting to work??? How does that even work?

Eta- what if YOU have an emergency, especially a medical type emergency? Is there any leniency?
