Really? I didn't know it was illegal to mount guns in your vehicle. I've seen a bunch of trucks with guns in a gun rack.

Haha... I like the comparisson, though I would debate that abortion is not a constitutional right.

Roe v. Wade was upheld for the right to privacy...

Not quite the same as the right to bear arms.

Well, I have gotten an abortion and been to many gun stores. I encountered many protesters at my recent trip to enroll in a gun/hunter safety course. Of course, the store was the location of the recent debate between Piers Morgan and Ted Nugent. I encountered zero protesters at the clinic. All I had to do was listen to some long recording outlining the possible outcomes should something go wrong, then wait 24 hrs and make my appointment. I wasn't allowed to see the sonogram.

Gun owners or people who support the 2nd amendment are vilified by liberals the same way pro-choice gets vilified by the conservatives. Both are called murderers even if they haven't had an abortion or shot a gun.

I do agree with the end.

But I think that's with everything in politics now-a-days. You state your view, and automatically that view is presumed to be the most extreme that it could be.

For gun control? You want to take away all the guns. Pro-choice? You love abortions and think everyone should get them. Pro-guns? You must want everyone to go out and shoot everyone.

Exactly. Everyone is so divided that they automatically assume people on the other side of the issue are either extremists or their trying to take away all of their rights. Tactical Firearms here in Katy came under fire because the owner said he supported stricter regulations of Internet and gun show sales so the whole community ran with it and said he was the enemy. People are crazy.

When the loudest voice against gun control is AJ and the loudest voice for it is piers Morgan, we have lost our way.

People use pundits instead of common sense and knowledge. I have no problem with more regulations on guns and ammo. Do I think it'll help crime? No. But it won't hurt it, either. Everyone I know grew up around guns. We all went through safety courses and proper training, also. I think that would be the best place to start. We can't stop criminals but we can try to prevent accidental shootings by requiring safety courses and proper storage. Hell, most animal shelters won't let you adopt an animal without a background and/or home check. Why would that be an issue with a dangerous weapon?

Agreed. Absolutely.

It's always the extremes that seem to be the loudest and the ones that get paid the most attention. It's a shame, really, because there are a lot of intelligent people in this country with great ideas that can't get heard over the shouting.

I have to agree (sorry to jump in.) I think there is a balance with most things, including this.

If you aren't extreme, you aren't newsworthy. If you aren't some sort of news show celebrity, no one gives your opinion a second thought.

Or if you got thin, got fat, or got implants. Or did something ridiculous. Can't forget that... that's what people REALLY pay attention to.
