I use to doubt Gods existence, but this story changed my life around.

When I was 7 my mom had to have her gallbladder removed. My grandma flew in from Colorado to watch my sisters and I. I remember looking up at my mom crying and saying “mommy you're going to die” they told me I was just scared but I just knew. She got her surgery and didn't come home for almost a week. When she did come home her stomach was all cut up, her abdomen was swollen, she looked awful. Then she told us what happened ..

During her surgery they surgeon was in a rush and cut open her liver by mistake. She was hemorrhageing to death. She said she remembers being in this light where she felt no pain, no emotions just peace. Looking over she could see herself on the operating table being worked on. Then she heard our voices calling to her saying mommy, over and over again. Our voices pulled her back away from the light. God said it wasn't her time to go, we needed her. Opening her eyes she asked the doctor if she was dying and they asked, "do you feel like you are dying"? Mom said I can't leave my babies! They gasped and asked how old we were and she replied, Katie is 1, Emily is 2, and chelsie is 7. They told her I wasn't a baby and my mom said that I would always be here baby. Every time she tells us this story I bawl, I know God is real he brought our mom back to us. It wasn't her time to go ..

When they discharged her she only had 6.7 units of blood, she shouldn't of even been released. Somehow I knew she was going to die.. and to this day I am terrified, whenever someone is sick or hurt I think they'rep going to die. People make fun of me for it but I can't help it, what happened to my momma scarred me for life.. I'm so thankful she is alive and well! Sometime soon she has to get her uterus removed, she has re-occurring cyst on her ovaries that are the size of a 14 week old fetus. My fears are all coming back.. what if something goes wrong and she doesn't come back.. I'm dreading the day she goes in for surgery.  

Awh. Not all doctors are whack jobs like that one.

I'm sure she will be fine, but I understand your anxiety given your past.

This made me cry. I had such a complex over the thought of my mom dying. We had a cancer scare but nothing to your extent. Like someone said not all doctors are whack jobs. I'm sure your mom will come through this. Good luck Hun.

God works in wonderful ways! He brought your mom back to you. I think your mom will be fine, but if something happens. Just remember how she said she felt peace and no pain in that light! She won't be suffering any more <3 I know it's easier to say than to feel. But it helps a little when thinking of lost loved ones. Prayers to you and your mom!!

I'm studying near death experiences at the moment. I find it really interesting, but as an atheist I believe more in the scientific reasons behind them, but I'm very glad your mom was okay!

Yeah, we're looking at some studies and explanations. There are scientific explanations but only when there is still brain activity - endorphins released cause feeling of joy, religious or cultural beliefs shape what you see, lack of oxygen to the brain can cause hallucinations, and more. However there is one particular case, and others I'm sure, in which the woman was having brain surgery to remove an aneurism and had to be physically dead for it, her brain activity was being closely monitored, she was dead, but can recall a conversation had by the doctor and a nurse in the OR, what the drills looked like, the sound of them cutting into her head etc.

True but tht happens
It happend to my friend. Same exact thing. Wqs getting his gallbladder removed and sliced his liver, he hemmorqged and said he saw the light too..

Oh really? That's a little weird.

that's very scary what happened. my mom has had a bazillion surgeries before including gall bladder removal. I dont know what I'd have done if she passed during one.
your moms story is so cool. I wish I could have that experience but I don't really feel like almost dying

I dont want to have one.. When I die I want to go straight to heaven..

Yeah and it happened about 6 years ago. Recently in my book. Yup you can ask him all about it. They actually stitched him up and then he died and they went back in to find his liver was cut.. He is On my Fb and i know he will talk to you about it if you asked! Lol if you want to just PM me and i will give you his name. It has happened more than those 2 times i can assure you that!
