solids/teething question!

My 6 month old is teething like MAD and (I think) the extra saliva and mucous is causing him to have diarrhea. It started yesterday morning. And it's super corrosive! I have been vigilant changing his diaper and applying butt paste, but he still has a pretty nasty rash. Should I stop giving him solids until his bowel movements are back to normal?
He seems to be feeling fine other than having a sore mouth (and butt).

This happened to my son when teething.

I cut out fruit and that helped.

He was closer to nine months, though.
