My daughter does this too! I tell her "No ma'am feet are yucky". She also tries to eat the soles of shoes and rips shreds of fabric off of blankets with her little teeth. I don't know what to do about it. But she will sneak up on you for sure and try to bite your toes off.

That is adorable. But yeah try to make him stop. Feet are really dirty and you wouldn't want the LO with an infection in their mouth. Super painful for them.

I am so tempted to call her pedi because I really don't want her to get infections. I try to do everything I can to stop her from doing it. I don't know either. When I find out I will be sure to give you the heads up girl!

I don't think there's anything you guys can do except to constantly correct the behavior and let them no it's a "no no". The doctor can't do anything about that and there's nothing abnormal about a child exploring with their mouths. Just keep shoes away from their reach, like in a closet or something. And if they do it to you or others stop them immediately and don't laugh because they'll think its funny

I am just surprised someone else is having this issue too! I was actually going to post about it too! But I will call her pedi in the morning and ask the nurse. Their open on Saturdays (which is so awesome).

My daughters Pedi is amazing. She has the best advice about things. I'm sure she will tell me how to go about fixing it other than saying no because it doesn't matter how many times I say it. I could say it until I am blue in the face and it wouldn't change a thing. At their ages, "no" doesn't mean that much to them. They understand some what but other than that it doesn't really click.

i know right!! i thought i was the only one going through this!! and its sooo weird!! its been making me curious so i thought id ask! lol and oh yes! i so know what you mean there! no matter how many times i say no, and thats icky he still wants to explore! i have no problem with him exploring and getting to know new things, id just like him to know eating feet/shoes is icky! lol he has been doing this since he was able to crawl at 5 months!! :-/ its been going on too long! and it seems to be getting more common with him the last 2 months since he learned how to walk :-/

They have been doing this about the same amount of time! I just don't know what else to do about it anymore. I am so worried all the time about her health because of all of the feet and shoes she tries to sneak in her mouth. I mean I take one or two showers a day (habit) but still, her daddy works all day and she will sneak up on him and bite and lick his feet. Its kind of repulsing to see actually. Lol
