I always cried, not purposely for sympathy or anything but because I'm so by the book that it terrifies me to be in "trouble". But maybe the cops see that as a ploy, they're like "you cry?? Automatic ticket!" haha

Oh ok. That's a lot different than I've always been told. I have always been told, like if you're arrested while your kids are with you, DFCS is called and a social worker comes and takes your kids to foster care. They don't even look for another parent or someone the child knows who could keep them.

Yeah that smurf was seriously terrifying. It was a death penalty case. I lived in Alabama when the crime was committed. I got a call from my best friehd saying I was on the most wanted list, and I took a bus home and turned myself in thinking "Oh once I tell them I live 16 hours away it'll all be good"

Yeah...right. I just matched the suspect description and my mum didn't know where I was living and told the sheriff's it could have been me.

I did cry the first time. Then every time after that I was like "Oh my god, this is my first time getting pulled over.." Except one cop was like .."No.. I've pulled you over before.." lol! I got pulled over 3 times in one week .. That was just a bad week. I was seriously an idiot.

Wow!   Well you seem like a really strong person to come out of all of that.
I think it's awesome that you talk to at risk youth. There needs to be more people like that.

That was the first taste I got of my adoptive mum's real side, though. Come to find out she was drunk as a skunk the night the sheriff went to see if I was still at her address.

I've decided to get my degree in social work and hopefully find a position with a local youth organization. Yeah I've got a bad record, but I really thinkmI can do some good with it. I would hate to see someone walk down that same path because it really is a long, hard and broken road to no where.
