SERIOUSLY?!?!

i had an ob appointment today and im 36 weeks and my ob FINALLY said something about my blood pressure being elevated pretty high the past few appointments and me having bad headaches recently and ordered labs, today would be the 2nd time ive had my urine tested the entire pregnancy. to say that my ob is lacking is an understatement.... but i go do my labs and they put a rush on it and tell me they will let me know the results in an hour. only problem... i was the last lab of the day and my ob office closed as i was walking out of the lab so i got no call, and when i called them i got an answering machine and said they would open again on tuesday. i called the lab and same thing. i called labor and delivery HOPING someone there can let me know something and they have no idea where to get the results and wouldnt be able to tell me results even if they did. so i wont get any results until tuesday and i'm pretty nervous to wait that long since BP during pregnancy really isn't something to play around with and wait it out. and switching ob's is not an option. army wont let me.  

I would go into l&d and have them run the test, they have a 24 hour lab for stuff like that. Seriously, if you think you have pre e its nothing to mess with.

I get my urine and BP done every single visit.

If you don't feel good go to the hospital. If you have spotty vision, really bad headaches, feel sick or just not yourself go in!

If you're that worried, put yourself on bedrest to alleviate the symptoms. Relax, stay off your feet. Pay attention to signs of HBP such as changes in vision or headaches. Maybe avoid excess salt. You will most likely be fine until Tuesday, but on the chance you feel really bad, call the ER and get some advice or go in.

Above all relax, stress won't help!

at y appointment 2 weeks ago my BP was 155/90 and i told her i was having bad headaches and get like head rushes when i stand up and just feel awful and her response was welcome to pregnancy... this appointment my BP was 138/91 and i told her i feel bad and still have bad headaches and she said well....maybe we should run your urine and see whats going on. im sooo mad and nervous. this is my first baby and have NEVER had ANY problem with my BP before.

that's kind of high OP! I was admitted to the hospital with BP almost the same as yours and my son was delivered a few hours later.


I also never had prior issues with my BP it came on out of nowhere suddenly.

I don't want to scare you but if it's pre e you should be checked out!! It can get out of control fast.

I'd probably go to L&D to make sure because it sounds like your doctor is an idiot!

the one thirty is fine but one fifty is on the higher side of normal however at this point I doubt it would be enough to cause protien in your urine and classify it as pre e at most if you stayed at one fifty it could be pregnancy induced hypetension which would be monitered to prevent pre e if possible since one usually follows the other I am not saying your wrong but I can see why your dr. didnt jump on it right away and is just now getting those labs ....as the others have said rest alot etc. you will probably be fine waiting till tuesday but if your worried about it and dont wanna go thru the hell of the dr. just go to walgreens or a pharmacy and ask to have your bp checked its free and will let you know whats going on when your bp hits like 210 over 120 then be worried my liver failed from the protien in 24 hours and my ob didnt say squat my nurses saved my life and that of my son so it can go from nothing to something but being calm and just monitering it mildly till tuesday is a safe bet at this point

according to the pre eclampsia website BP that is 140/90 is when it is considered worry some.

Doesn't mean you have pre e but someone should be looking into it for sure. Especially since you have headaches and feel like crap.

trust your instincts... if something doesn't feel right go in!

i'm seen at a MTF as well and i HATE every single doctor i've met there.. they are incompetent & take their sweet ass time doing everything that they're supposed to do.. i'm high risk with incompetent cervix and overactive/irritable uterus, they are supposed to monitor my cervix once a week & they have only seen me twice in 15 1/2 weeks saying "it's not a necessity"..

Good luck OP! i would go to the ER as other posters have said.
