Cloth Diapers

i am trying to decide if i want to cloth diaper this time around, i have only heard good things about them and how much money they save you in the long run. what are your experiences with them?

I love it so far. Dd likes it better too. They're so soft and cute. We don't have to buy anymore dipes if we don't want and haven't spent nearly as much as we would have on sposies. We're going through 15 dipes a day right now at least. She's 2 weeks old. We would be out so much $ by now   This is already paying for itself.

I've been using them for 5 years. You just have to find which on is right for you and your baby/family

this might be a stupid question but what do you do with the diaper if your in public and the baby poops? also where did you buy yours from and how much would you buy to start out with?

I have a mini wet bag, and just throw it in there until I can rinse at home.

You should start out like this.

Take the number of diapers a day, and times it but the number of days you'll go between ashing.

So say you use 14 a day with a newb. You want to go 2 days 14*2=28. I'd round up, JIC.

It's a bag, can vary in size, that usually has a zipper or pull tie. You throw your diapers in it until you wash, and it keeps the smell in.

We started CDing when we got home from the hospital. We went with the FLIP hybrid system (covers and inserts) and the BumGenius Freetime (All-in-One = AIO). My DH was not too happy to be CDing, so I didn't want to get too many types. My favorites are the BG AIOs. Now that he is a little older, we use the AIO during the day and the FLIP at night with a doubler. We use a large hanging wet bag at home for the diapers and a small one for the diaper bag.

I personally don't have a wetbag yet so I just use a plastic shopping bag   haha

My stash is mostly all wahm. My NB stash that I'm using now is mostly comprised of bear monkey bottoms AI2s www.hyenacart.com/bearmonkeybottoms then I have some from a mama on here. One from another mama on here but she made it as a favor, she doesn't make them to sell typically. And I have some Grovia AIOs www.gro-via.com. These are all pricier than if u were to go with alvas. I'm just not very comfortable with buying from china. Plus I love supporting wahms more than a Factory that mass produces. But if you don't have the funds there's nothing wrong with alvas and some of the other cheaper brands.

My AIO stash is comprised of Bmbs, Grovia, and squishy butts, all AI2s. Then I do have a couple rebranded alvas that I bought from a wahms website because I didn't wanna order them from china haha. They're pockets which I don't think I'm gonna be very thrilled with. I hate stuffing them for one. For two I don't wana pull them out dirty   I love my AI2s so far
