UTI after sex?

Is there anything i can do besides drink cranberry juice, its really hurts like a MOTHER! I tend to contract UTI's after sexual intercourse. Going to the ER is not an option..

If you are not pregnant, I have heard that a nice cold beer will help clean out your bladder and urinary tract. I personally don't like beer and would never even try it so I don't know if it will work. However, I got UTI's a lot after sex when I was pregnant with my first. My OB told me to make sure that after sex to go pee. She said that would help me not to get an infection. She also suggested that I wash myself after sex as well. I know the last thing you want to do after sex is get up and go pee and wash yourself, but I have mad it a habit and I haven't had a UTI since.

Azo and 1tsp of baking soda in 8oz of water a few times a day.

My SO is only home 4 days a month so we kinda do ''it'' whenever we can and after everytime i go to the bathroom. I got a uti when i was pregnant with my son but im not pregnant and the only thing i can think of is cranberry juice.

Ive had chronic utis for almost five years. Doctors say DH probably carries the bacteria, but is unaffected by it. Ive been on antibiotics so many times that it shouldve been impossible for me to have one, but everytime ive been to the doc they say i still have it. It sux. But i take azo constantly, even if i just feel a tingle.

Also, probiotics. Lots. All the time. If you are strongly colonized with good bacteria, it greatly reduces the ability of bad bacteria to take hold.

I get UTIs all the time. I drink cranberry juice and refrain from using any scented body wash down there or having sex for a few days.

Remove all scent from detergents for laundry. Do not use soap to clense your vaj area (it's an irritant) do not take baths if possible & if you must refrain from using any products with scent in your bathwater & urinate as soon as you are out. Urinate after sex, ALWAYS, and use a water based lube. Drink lots of fluid, the more often you urinate the better. Avoid caffeine, especially coffee & tea. Take a good quality probiotic. If you do that all, you won't have recurrent UTI's....ever again. I had them all.the.time. Then I finally decided to take care of it. I do caffeine now again, but gave it up 3 yrs initially. Now I just monitor how much.
