Is there a way to prevent it before it even appears?

rub a bit of coconut oil on the scalp before shampooing. use a gentle shampoo, make sure to rinse very well and dont shampoo every day.

You could try rubbing oil, whether it be olive, baby or coconut, in before shampooing.

TBH I have no idea. I think just make sure you clean their head well? My first two kids got it. My 4 month old has never had it. I just make sure I scrub her scalp well. Idk if that is preventing it or not, maybe some babies are more prone than others?

So the oil will actually help prevent it?
My other two kids had it, my son worse then my daughter. I used to massage oil into it, then gently comb it out before shampooing it.
LO is 6 weeks today and iv just noticed his scalp is a lil dry....kinda more like dandruff then the thick yellow cradle cap. Kinda want to get it under control before it gets too bad.
