Breastfeeding and dad disagreeing

I am BFing LO he is almost 9 mths and SO wants me to stop at a year. I do not want to stop, I want LO to self wean. SO says that if I do not stop BFing at a year I don't respect him   . I do not want to cause a fight how do I tell him nicely to get the hell over it?

Just tell him that they are your boobs and until your child together shows signs of being done, they you aren't doing it.

What is his beef with it anyway? Is he wanting them for himself? Was he like this with you other kids and how did you react then?

sounds like hes trying to get the upper hand by useing you dont respect him. i could be wrong!

We only have one child together and he wasnt around while BFing my other son. His mom stopped BFing at 1 and that is why he thinks I should.

Tell him by trying to tell you what to do you with your body is disrespecting you. Why doesnt he want you to go past a year? I would try and address the true issue with him and show him how beneficial it is for babies to choose to self wean and toddlers breastfeeding.

Well tell him every family is different, and you are not his mother.

well he needs to knwo just bc his mother stopped at a year with him doesnt mean you need to with your LO.
its as much as your desion as it was his moms.

Try to educate him. Its disrespectful for him to try and control what you do with your body.

I'm kind of in the same situation, not with my DH but with the rest of the family. DH is perfectly fine with it, it's everyone else. They think it's "weird" and they're pissed because they want my LO to stay the night and I don't pump, so she can't stay without me. I say do what YOU want to do. It's your body. However in this case it's not just your child though, so have you talked to him about benefits of extended breast feeding?
