He might be allergic to either the lotion or soap you use for him... my son was allergic to Johnson's lotion and i switched him to Baby Magic and he has no more bumps

The Avenno Eczema lotion is amazing for DD. It's a little expensive, but worth it. We also do Aveeno oatmeal baths sometimes when she has a bad rash.

Lmao @ poo-nami. I'll have to remember that. Not so much for DD, but DH. lol.

Okay my 4 mon old has this EXACT same thing I was going to post pictures too bit idk how. But I have been using desitin on it and its cleared in 2 days and I also rub him down with aveeno baby eczema lotion and it helps a ton. Good luck. My husband had eczema so bad as a teenager and looked like a burn victim on his arms so I knew what it was right away when the red patches showed up on my son.

My daughter had this same exact dryness/rash on her back and we put Johnsons baby lotion ( the pink bottle) on her everyday especially after bath time and it cleared up but I still do that to this day. I also use my lotion which Is Suave advanced therapy for dry skin and I think that helped her as well and she likes it.

Good luck.

\Looks to me like eczema. My son had it from a month old and still deals with it and he is 3 years old. The colder weather makes the eczema worse which would explain why it is getting worse.
Here was what I was told - bath him every other day and after the bath, pat his skin dry and put a thick cream or vasaline all over where the rash it. Also after every diaper change put the same cream on. Oh and for his bath's use either Aveeno Baby Wash (it comes in a box with 5 packets in it) or I sometimes just use plain old oatmeal in his baths. Oh and DO NOT use anything scented; not even laundry soaps. I stick to Baby Soft.
If it is eczema hopefully go away before he is two and if not it will probably be something he deals with for the rest of his life. Also like to note that watch for signs of asthma too as asthma and eczema are linked together. My son was just diagnosed with asthma almost a year ago and they told me they were linked together.
Hope this helps and good luck with everything!

Ps. Also maybe try switching formula if he is on it? One with a lower lactose content (parents choice has a brand with 1/4 of the normal lactose or one without lactose at all that is affordable) because sometimes it could be an allergic reaction to the lactose.

That's a lot of why I've been doing, except the oatmeal bathes which I'm going to try tomorrow! I had no idea asthma and eczema were related! My SO and I both have asthma so I know LO is at risk for it and that terrifies me! I do not want him to deal with asthma for the rest of his life! Hopefully this is just a random breakout of eczema!!!

He is on similac ailmentum so I don't think his formula is a problem. He was switched onto that around when he turned 3 months.

Thanks so so muc for all the tips and advice ladies! I put hydrocortisone on the patches last night and it did help! Going out and buying another tube today as soon as the roads are clear of snow!

my little girl had the same exact thing! I took her to the ER and was told it was Excema. Its nothing bad, usually babies grow out of it at a certain age. Cold weather usually agitates it so its usually worse during winter. On the bad spots like in the pics use hydrocotizone cream, it knocks it down right away! Use lotion as much as possible to keep the skin moisturized and don't give as many baths. The water is harsh on the skin, plus my babies dr said its best to keep the skins natural oils on.
