re: Wanting an abortion

posted 8th Feb
OP- I know the clinics that do offer abortions in MN are quite a bit away (if you're traveling to SD for one) from you but if Medicaid covers it, find someone willing to drive you. You have to have one friend or family member you can tell?

Same here....

When I got mine done 4 years ago it cost 350. When I was going to get it done 2 years ago it would have cost 250 - 300 and with funding it was 98.. and I wanted to do payment plans on it, but they wouldnt allow me to do that. So I had to do adoption and yeah I totally hate it. I only had 98 in my pocket..

Quoting ma ♥:" Would you qualify for a secondary insurance? I know the medical (medicaid) covers abortions... If that doesn't work, would you qualify for a credit card?"

I think I have medical assistance because I got a letter in the mail stating that my medical assistance eligibility type changed. I don't think I'd qualify for a credit card because of my lack of credit history.

Minnesota covers abortions under the Pregnant Women portion of their plan, I'm not sure exactly what it's called in that state. If you already have Medicaid, go to the Health Dept. and take a test, then take the positive proof into the DHS office. If you're pregnant and have proof, they should get things going within 10 days, but you can make the appointment.

If you already have Medicaid hon, I'd call them to see if it would cover it for you, or maybe DHS can link you to someone who can.

Quoting Mrs. God of Thunder:" I would think that you could maybe set up payment arrangements at PP perhaps? Could you borrow the money ... [snip!] ... BC or were you just not taking it? I'd look into that as well, so you do not have a repeat and have to go through this again."

The father, also my bf, is asking one of his good friends/coworkers if they will borrow some money. I don't have anyone I could borrow money from. I'll see if they'll do payment arrangements but I doubt they will. No I am not on BC, I can't because of the condition I have and the BC would interfere with the medicine I take. We just use condoms.

I put that into consideration but there's no way I could travel that far
