throwing up bile.

posted 8th Feb
Chub has been throwing up since about 2:30. So 2 hours now, and it's happened at least a dozen times. Nothing is staying down, so we're at the point of throwing up bile.

How long do I keep pushing water/powerade before I need to take her in? Or is there ANYTHING else I can give her before the point of going in. I really don't want to leave the house.

IDK. I'd say give her 6 hours? Is she sipping or taking drinks?

But your governor just banned driving on the roads so IDK how that works. I assume medical emergencies are something completely okay to be driving for.

Maybe a tablespoon of water every 5 minutes or so. If she keeps going like this, throwing up bile for another few hours, I'd take her in. But if you can successfully get even a few tablespoons of water, then maybe some broth down her and she keeps it down, she should be fine.

She's taking sips. Only 2-3 at a time. But then just throws up.

That's why I'm worried. I mean, I'd assume they can't do much if it's an emergency, but I'm at such a damn loss

They're threatening fines and jail time for those caught driving.

It's so difficult really because you don't to face that and you don't want to burden the emergency responders with that but you also don't want Chub getting dehydrated.

I don't suppose you have anything like Dramamine around? It could calm her stomach enough so she could keep fluids down.

I'll give her a few more hours. If she keeps nothing down, idgaf about the fine. My kid comes first

Obviously.
I'd just hate getting pulled over for that smurf and wasting time with it.

I know. She just loves being difficult. Like, of course she'd get this during a blizzard.

If the child is under one I woulds call the on-call nurse and ask them. Other then that I would wait about 6 hours. Keep a close eye on your child and give them light colored pop ice or cold water treats( that so do not have milk) If you child become weak or if there eyes or touge become dry(for eyes base it on looks) I would go ahead and take him in.

Poor Kel.   We all had it here about a month ago. It sucks. Seems to last about 6 hours. I threw up bile for the last 3. She also probably won't feel like eating much for about 3 days, that's how it was for us. This virus is hitting everyone.

Aww.

She napped for about 30 minutes, woke up puking, but now has kept down about 5 oz of mpowerade/water mix. So it looks like I won't have to be fined.

I would of just takin her to the doctors. Snow and tickets are not worth risking my childs health.

Yeah, but unless it's truly an emergency situation, taking a sick child out into a blizzard that is so bad the Governor banned driving, is not a smart choice either.
