Why not? You don't know how an animal feels or what they feel/think. Their life is established already. They have families (most of them) and bonds. They're ripped away from their loved ones. There are other options for food.

Ijs. If you're gonna preach about killing something that's alive being wrong, at least be consistent in your beliefs.

I swat flies to kill them. Swatting a fly, killing your roach infestation or eating that fried chicken is not even comparable to abortion.

We are talking about human abortion here. The statement she made was regarding the subject at had. Shouldn't that go without saying? I mean, c'mon on.

Sometimes, I really do forget the secular point of view that many are coming from. The Bible lays out what animals are for, and that we have power over them. They are designated as "nourishment for our bodies". Moot point with you and others, I suppose.

Perhaps but I think the real point here is to choose your words carefully. If anything, BG taught me that I should think my choice of words through more carefully because of things like this.

We don't normally consider those food either. You knew what I meant. I didn't think I had to be so specific. Mammals are definitely comparable to humans. Possibly even birds.

Yes.

Aside from a religious standpoint, I don't see how others can value human life over animals, more specifically mammals. I'm not so sure about insects. I only kill them if they're harmful.

I'm a vegetarian btw, but not a crazy nut who protests and my family eats meat. I do feel bad about it though.

So, abortion is acceptable, given some circumstances or any circumstance, but you won't eat MEAT...because you FEEL BADLY about it?

Just because? You really think women abort "just because"?

I think it's a very responsible thing to do if a women aborts because she believes she could not give the child what it needs or deems her present situation to be unfit for a child.

Sometimes women become pregnant even when on birth control, and no woman should be made to bring a child into the world if she feels she does not want to, for whatever reason (as above).

So it's not always about a woman being irresponsible, or not being able to live with what they've done.

I'm pro choice. To me the woman should always come before the fetus.

The thought of abortion ever being illegal horrifies me. To force a woman to keep a fetus/baby could cause so many problems.

Forcing babies into unsafe situations, seriously affecting a womans mental health are just two of the many reasons why it should ALWAYS be the womans choice!

I have it on my car as a bumper sticker. I had the guy behind me pumping gas tell me he thought my stickers were great a few days ago.
