I am just wondering when you all stopped breastfeeding and what the leading reasons for stopping was? I have been exclusively breastfeeding for 6 months and although it is a lot of work I do it because it is better for my baby and me. I am thinking about doing it for the first year of her life...

2 1/2 months. Not by choice. LO was sick and in the hospital for a week, he refused to breast feed, so my supply was pretty much gone by the time we went home. I tried taking medicine to start lactating again and it just didn't work.

almost 18 months. she was mostly self weaned... only nursed every few days. we were about to leave for vacation so I just started telling her no then. She didn't even whine.

I nursed that long.. because it was best for her. Toddlers rarely eat well anyway... so the BM was especially good for her then

Still nursing, he will be 2 in April. I'll keep going until he decides to stop.

I nursed LO until she was 25 months and she self wined I think that it is because I got pregnant and it changed the taste of my milk.

My son is 15 months today, and we just stopped this past month. He just lost interest in it and my body stopped producing milk.

If you don't mind me asking how old was she when you stopped feedings so often. ? Or Did she just suddenly stopped?

DS is 19 months today and still breastfeeding.

My first LO I stopped at 3ish weeks. 1.) I thought what I was getting with the pump= what I was actually producing and 2.) the visiting nurse hounded me about her weight. I got scared and started feeding her formula. I was so upset with myself that I knew I would educate myself more come the next child.

LO #2 has been breastfed from day 1 and still going at 5 months. Ive just been setting goals and as I meet them, I start a new one.

I breast fed my son til he was 18 months

I stopped breastfeeding because standing in the breakroom bathroom that 20+ other people at work needed to use, hooked up to a breast pump wasn't working for me. It's unfortunate that this country isn't more accommodating to mothers.
