Not past 3 months, then he was on organic formula until 1.
I will most likely do the same for my next.

With my first 2 I intended to BF for the first year but only made it 4 months with both. My supply quit both times, im not sure why with my 1st but with my 2nd it was from being pregnant again. We'll see how it goes with my 3rd!

right? hell.. I wish I'd known it was an option... I'm a nurse and didn't know about it with my last LO. She breast fed for almost 18 months like I said... but I worked full time. she NEVER took a bottle.. but I had to pump at work to maintain a supply and for comfort. I threw away a freezer FULL of breast milk. Seriously... freaking gallons I'm sure. I kept storing it thinking maybe she'd take it eventually... I hated to throw it.

actually... sucks.. when I found out about donor milk.. it was from a co-worker.. who used donor milk... at the same time that I was throwing milk away. : (

that must be a horrible feeling, I never had enough milk for DD and had to supplement with formula, I would have given anything for a BFer to give her milk.

Omg... @_@ You threw away so much. That sounds like a nightmare. I think I would have cried had I had to do that. Yeah next time you can always donate to HM4HB or eats on feets. Many woman are in dire need and ask every day. :]

Sucks you had to throw it away but at least you know now for the future if you have any more babies :> I want to donate next time but I dont know if I will be able to. I never had enough to donate with >.< I always feel like I am weird for having given my 2 year old donor milk...given that he is so old but he always seems 10times healthier and gets over illnesses so much faster when he has it and he is lactose so it is much easier on his tummy. I wish I had kept breastfeding though.

I live in MN... there is no milk bank here.. so I dont think donor milk is widely known about. This co-worker is now a close friend of mine... and I'm glad she had donor milk.. but it makes me sad to know I could have helped.

There are no milk banks in a lot of areas that is why HM4HB exists :] Its so woman who can't get to milk can find it. There is no milk bank required to donate milk. I want to donate next time if I get enough out Y_Y
