What's wrong with my toddler?

My daughter is 3 and she's been a BEAR lately! She doesn't listen to a thing I say, and she throws temper tantrums like never before, especially in public. It used to be that I could calm her down by speaking softly to her, but now it just makes her scream louder. She threw a fit in a restaurant today, and we had to go sit in the car, because she was making a scene. I can't reason with her anymore. The 'nice' approach doesn't work, nor does speaking firmly to her. I'm not crazy about spanking, but I don't think that would work either. She just doesn't listen, and it's really becoming frustrating. I feel like a bad parent because I can't control my kid. The only thing that's changed recently is that her dad started classes again, so she's getting bounced from babysitter to babysitter. Maybe the inconsistency and ever-changing rules are having an affect on her, but we can't quit our jobs and he can't stop going to class. I don't know what to do! Any suggestions?!

He was denied preschool b/c we didn't meet the requirements and I deal with his attitude 24/7. Nothing has worked with him. I am just hoping that when he starts Kindergarten next year that he settles down. If I remember correctly 3,4,5 was tough with our oldest too.

I figured we'd notice a change once the baby arrives, but we still have 6 months to go! I don't know if my pregnancy has anything to do with her attitude, but I hope she outgrows it soon!

It's probably because your pregnant you could try to take her to therapy or just tell her about her sister/brother tell her you love her no matter what, she probably thinks you won't pay attention to her when the baby comes just make her see you will

Fingers crossed that it changes. I think I am officially losing my mind  . If it gets worse after she gets here I think a room with some padded walls is in order lol

It's a good thing I work in a hospital with a psych ward.

We had terrible 3's. twos where a breeze, then Emma turned 3 and bam a completely different child
