I mean if I don't have my records with me at the hospital then it will look like I've had no care at all. I just talked to my mom again and she was told that if that is the case, then they can automatically open a case with Social Services saying I was neglectful and all that baloney. I know that I can get my records easily, I'm just stressing about the drama it can/might cause.

again... it might make them run a few extra tests and put you on their radar.. but it will not cause them to take your baby away.

it'll be ok mama... just present yourself well, don't be crazy, and dont' give them reason to question more than normal

It's rare that things like that happen unless there was a problem in pregnancy or with the mama, which neither are the case. My mom didn't give any of us (7 kids) the Vit K and we're all fine. But that's not why I don't want her to have it, I just don't feel like it's the right choice for my baby, unless the doctor feels like her life is being threatened in some way and the shot would save her.

Never heard of that. I would call different doctors and see if they can see you explaining your in the process of getting Medicaid. Medicaid pays up to 3 months back. Just stand your ground on what you do and don't want done with you and your child. It's just a scare tactic.

Lol I'm praying I don't just lose my mind when I go into labor. Thanks though!

In Georgia its not like that. When I had my 1st son I didn't have a pediatrician yet (he came at 30 weeks and I was still looking) and they used the hospitals pediatrician and I found one when he was released. With my second I moved when I was 30 weeks and didn't have an OB yet (he was born at 32 weeks) and they treated me like every other woman there. Now there are shots that the baby has to have before they release him/her like the vitamin k but that for every child.

Don't worry about it hun. That baby will be going home with you. However it would be nice if you could get one visit in before birth.

it's an unnecessary risk to take that can be avoided by a vitamin injection. if your baby ends up with a brain bleed in the nicu... how will you ever convince yourself it's not your fault? it's a vitamin... nothing that will hurt LO.

Oh and my son still doesn't have a pedi yet at almost 1 year old. If he has problems which has been one time so far we go to a health clinic.

Ah, I hear you.

I do not think that will cause your baby to be taken away from you, and don't think they will force you into certain procedures.

If you end up going into labor before it all happens, maybe have a written out explanation to give to the doctors/ nurses so they have it on file for you.

I'm in Dothan AL myself, and I know that the Medicaid office here answers to the one in Montgomery. My friend had the same issues as you, and she wound up going over their heads to Montgomery to get it done because they wouldn't get things done here. See if you can google the number for the montgomery medicaid office, or worst case call your local office and ask for the number. if thy ask why i wouldn't even respond. a month is craziness. i wouldn't even deal with them anhymore. And before people jump my shiz, Alabama agencies have a habit of this, at least my local ones do. I realize most workers like that are overworked etc etc, but in Alabama it really seems like they dont know any better. Also OP, if all she an do is tell you yes or no, and its been a month, there might be a hang up you'd be better off handling through Montgomery anyway.

I didn't know that thanks, and yes Alabama is CRAPPY when it comes to getting things done quickly especially with medical insurance.

You're welcome. I hope you can get it resolved. I was just looking, I had their number but I can't find it. I'll keep looking, unless you find it first

When they handed me the thing to sign to get it done, one of the side effects was possibly death. So there must be something in it besides vitamin K
