HELP! So lost at what to do.

posted 8th Feb
So, my bf and I moved in together. We recently just broke up and he moved out, but the only thing he took with him are his clothes. Im so lost and confused if i should keep the apartment or move back home. If i were to stay here it would be really tight, cant really afford everything by myself. Its managable but it would be really tight. Or move back home and i would have the whole upstairs to myself, and it would save me money. I want to stay here because what if he comes back, he has a place to go...he says hes done but if he was wouldnt he take ALL his stuff. I just dont know what to do anymore! Please help, and no judging!

TIA

I wouldn't stay in a place I could barely afford just for him to maybe come back to. Can you get a cheaper place?

I say move back home. There'd be no question for me. I wouldn't pay extra just to store his stuff. If he wants it he can come get it.

Leaving his stuff doesn't mean he might come back. Maybe he just doesn't have room for it where he is now or he's too lazy to come move it. Could be using the apartment as a storage facility.

Move back home... and if he "comes back" in the sense that he wants to reconcile... it's not necessary to live w/someone to have a relationship w/them. And it's probably not best to live w/someone who's just going to up and leave w/out consideration of the financial state you'll be left in... relationship or not.

If you are both on the lease then hes responsible for paying half. Which im sure he wont do so id move back home. But contact your landlord and let him know the basics to see if they will let u out of ur lease. If u have no lease, tell ur landlord ur moving back home.

Hes not on the lease, everything is in my name except the heat and electric and he told me i could keep that in his name. I have talked to my landlord and since i gave them a 30 day notice i can get my security deposit back.
