Quoting ILOVEWINE:" I would be disappointed my kid was talking like that at school. I think the mother is setting her child ... [snip!] ... child up for failure if she is going to be mad at the teacher for something her daughter said. I dunno I don't see the issue."
She said her kid wasn't the one who said it though. It wasn't a message home in Susie's agenda that little Susie said "bitch." It was something to the effect of "Johnny and Mark were saying the word 'bitch' today in class and we had a discussion about how inappropriate it was."
And I think it was completely inappropriate for the teacher to send home such a message in their agendas. Something like that can be sent home in a separate note or with a phone call or something. Maybe a class-wide e-mail. But right out there where the kids can read it and whatnot is completely inappropriate.
As was the discussion in class of such a word. A general discussion on not using bad words would have sufficed. And stopping this discussion from happening between two children should have happened before it ever got out of hand.
