food was my biggest issue, buy a gallon of milk, get up the next morning and its gone. It was beyond irritating. Also establish house rules and discipline, my kids aren't allowed to throw balls in the house, her's were, her kids went to bed at 6:30pm, mine were used to going to bed at 8pm, she spanked where I'm more of a time out person. It clashed the first few weeks and if we had sat down and discussed it before hand it would have been better.

Which, I know it would be different with them moving in....But Im not thinking it will be a horror story lol

The only problems we had with our exroommates is food and cleaning! Especially the cleaning becaise tje argument always about who made the mess and i shouldnt have to clean it. Witj 3 kids each, good luck! Maybe pick one day a week where you both collectivey clean the house and agree not to argue about it

I do help straighten up when I get home from work..I just wouldnt be able to help through the day when its just her and the kids home.


Im gonna go through and make a list of things to talk about just to cover anyways...that way if we both say it doesnt matter then we have that to go off...

Hopefully you both do that. My best friend worked outside and got dirty a lot. He would come home and as soon as he came in the door, he would ALWAYS walk through the living room with his boots on leaving dirt everywhere and throw all his work stuff all over the floor in the dining room. We always brought it up and he kept saying he'd stop and he just wouldn't. It's frustrating to live in a place that you want to stay clean and the other person just isn't concerned about it. So I always ended up cleaning up after him or I'd have to live in a pig pen. Also, we would buy most of the food in the house, and NEVER said anything about them eating it. We always shared what we had. Then ONE time I ate a breakfast meal he had bought (and he had like 4 or 5 of them) and he made this big huge deal about it.  

The biggest fight we ever had was about us waking his GF up one morning at 9 because we were having an argument. Well, DH worked and THEY would often stay up until 3 or 4 arguing loudly, this happened a lot. We never complained and we stayed out of it because it wasn't our business. Then one morning at 9:30, DH and I were in an argument in the living room and his GF comes out like "Ya'll need to STFU we're trying to sleep and ya'll are in here being all loud, either shut up or get out" Lol. DH went OFF on her and put her in her place about it. She's was being so dumb about it too acting like she would kick us out because our names weren't on the lease and we had just paid her rent. But we knew our rights and told her she couldn't make us do anything unless she wanted to pay to evict us.

Go though the proper channels if you're living on base. I know people who've gotten in trouble for not doing that.

I refuse to live on base anymore lol. I want to rent off base for at least a year or so, then look into buying.

My roommate made friends with my friends, so when my friends came over to hang out with her they thought it was okay to use my livingroom. She really started invading my space... that was the biggest problem I found.

lol! Well, good plan. Our plan for our next station is to live on base for a year to scope out the best areas/schools and then buy.
