It's early enough to post, I just need opinions

My baby has been sick since Wednesday. She started getting a cough and a really runny/suffy nose. She so congested and miserable that when she woke up this morning she sounded like she was hacking a lung up. It wasn't barky, just juicy...sorry tmi but I'm a nurses aide so I explain everything in detail. So I took her into the bathroom, turned the shower on all the way and steamed the place up for about 10min. Now she is perky and playful....except from her runny butt from her antibiotics. But she has a slight wheeze to her when she breaths. I don't know if I should be super concerned and call to see the doctor since its still early enough to garentee an appointment or just wait and watch. I think it has todo with something from her cold, but I could be wrong. Also what can I do for her congestion other then steam?

If it were me, I'd probably make a doctor's appt, just to be safe. Occasionally a cold can develop into an upper respiratory infection, or pneumonia and that's no bueno.
You could try saline nose drops, and a suction bulb. Also, hylands makes homeopathic cold tabs for babies that aren't bad.
Hope she's feeling better soon!

She could have RSV or pneumonia. My son is currently battling RSV after a 2 night stay at the hospital.
For her congestion, I use saline drops and suck it out with a bulb syringe all the time. Especially before, during, and after feedings. Also, my pedi gave me the okay to use the little noses decongestant.
Don't let her flat on her back, put an incline in her bed or crib. Maybe run a humidifier in her room?
