Sex after a D&C

How soon after a d&c can you safely have sex? The nurse at the hospital was hopeless and when I asked, she had no idea and said "I'm not sure... I'd wait a week at least" the information sheet she gave me pretty much said not to go it right after, but didn't give me a time frame. I'm in no pain it anything, feel fine. I just don't want to get any infections or anything.... But could really go for some sex. Lol.

I had a D&E I waited 4 weeks. But that's because they forced my cervix open.
I don't remember the differences between the two.

I had a hysteroscopy too... If that makes any difference? I guess I'll just wait a week at least to be safe

Uh if you had a hysterectomy too. Aren't you on bed rest? That means no sex until your check up with your doctor. Usually recovery is anywhere between 4-8 weeks.

Hysteroscopy - big difference  

I'm not on bed rest or anything. It was just a hysteroscopy... Just where they put the camera up there. My follow up appointment is on the 15th of march... I don't have to wait til then do I? I thought a week was bad enough... Not sure if I could last 5 weeks!

Don't know if it's the same, but I had sex 9 days post c-section.....they say to wait 6 weeks.......

I'd just ring and ask  

I had a follow up appointment a week later and was cleared for sex.

when I had a D&C, I got different answers from different doctors. Some said to wait 4 weeks. Another said to wait until at least a week after all bleeding has stopped. My bleeding stopped after 24 hours. We had sex for the first time exactly a week after that (so 8 days after the D&C) with a condom. (It was his birthday) and then we waited a few more weeks after that before we did it again.

So I'd say at least a week after all bleeding stops and not until you are comfortable with it again.
