snoring
posted 8th Feb
I am a very light sleeper. If I hear the faucet drip in the other room or someone snoring in the other room I can't sleep. I will lay awake all night. A few years ago I was with a great guy who snored so loud I would lay in bed awake for 8 hours even with ear plugs and pillows over my ears. That was the main reason I couldn't be with him. I NEVER got one wink of sleep when he was sleeping over. I had to break it off. I have a great guy now but he has 2 major flaws. Snoring is one of them. Is this shallow or understandable to be a deal breaker?
Also please tell me how to help him stop snoring! Ill take all suggestions.

I would see someone...can you take a sleeping pill or get a prescription?! That's quite odd to break up with someone, it's not his fault.

Eh, Idk. Honestly if it were me and I REALLY was into the guy and had feelings for him, I'd do the dirty-dirty, then head to the couch or vice-versa. I couldn't see breaking it off with a guy I was really into over that.
Btw I chose skittles! xD

My DH just recently started snoring but he's also had an on/off cold. I make him turn to the side and that helps. He also uses nasal strips...sometimes they help but not a lot. Luckily we work opposite schedules so I just sleep when he's at work. Snoring could definitely be a deal breaker I'd you're not getting adequate sleep ever. My parents have separate bedrooms because mt dads snoring is HORRIBLE!

This is exactly why I'm on bg at 12:30am. I'm laying in bed as we speak with my husbands arms around me while I listen to him snore and breathe loudly into my face. Every once in a while I just roll him over and he stops for a bit haha. But there is stuff for snorers.. nasal strips?

M Dh is a really bad snorer to the point that when we go away with friends/family we can not share a cabin as he snores that loud it wakes our friends kids.
The first time he stayed over my sister and I woke up and were walking around the house trying to work out what all the noise was, it sound like it was coming from outside but it was him in the spare room.
My family and friends dont understand how I can get any sleep but the boys and I find comfort knowing that if he is snoring he is alive lol!!
It took me a while to get used to it but now it doesnt bother me so much anymore, I also suffer from insomnia (not due to his snoring lol).
We have tried everything his gp wants him to go to a sleep study clinic to check for sleep aponia but he refuses to go.

No I wouldn't take drugs to sleep. I have a baby i need to be alert for. Who do I see to help him quit snoring? I have a job and sleep is a requirement to be a human lol
How do I get him to quit snoring?

Lol I lay awake even on the couch I try to sleep I really do. I can't sleep with light, music or tv. I never have been able to.
I am thinking of long term with him. How do I tell him I can't sleep bc he snores? So if we get married we sleep in different rooms? Plus he is really cuddly and I'm not lol
There has got to be a way to help people quit snoring

Yea I snore a little if I am sick. Occasionally I can deal with but he snores every single time. I literally laid awake 7 hours last night. I wonder what causes it?

The couch thing I would do. After cuddling and doing the dirty-dirty and about to fall asleep, I'd go to the couch. But if the couch doesn't work out for ya then that's a no go. I have an extremely comfy couch and it would be fine for me, and yep I'm married.
Idk, other than him seeing a docotor about his snoring :-/ I'm of no help.sorry.

Omg that sucks! And could be a number of things. Congestion, sleep apnea, his jaw could be too lax and not give him a clear open airway...try nasal strips? if not they have like a retainer almost to bring his jaw forward while he sleeps...or they make pillows for snorers. He also could have sleep apnea. If hes heavier and loses weight that may help. Sometimes surgery helps. Most of the time a c-pap machine helps.
