Thrush/Candida

What are some ways to get rid of a Candida infection?
I was on some antibiotics to get rid of a Urinary Tract Infection, and I ended up with thrush from them.
My doctor didn't prescribe me anything, just said to buy some candida cream from a pharmacy.
Is there any other ways though?
