Thank you very much. It will be really difficult not just money wise and whatnot, but also emotionally doing this alone for my very first time at only 17. However, I can take responsibility and say I should have seen it coming, this wasn't planned or anything, but I absolutely wasn't as careful as I should have been, and just happened to get unlucky and the dad turned out to be a real charmer.

If you are living on your own you can apply for food stamps and TANF regardless of you only being 17. Most places will allow you to apply for WIC and medicaid as long as you are over 16 (Depends on your county's regulations). It's gonna be tough but it's deffinently not impossible. Good luck hun

I got WIC at 16. They told me they didn't need my moms income even though I was living at home. Go to the WIC office and ask. My kids are a little older, but I am now a single mom of two if you ever need someone to talk to let me know

My mother in law makes 18 an hour and she's a CNA...

All of this. My nurse i had last week was 8 months pregnant and was working a 12 hr shift & had been her entire pregnancy. Unless you're high risk there's no reason not to work... as for your baby daddy, he sounds like a dick.. & if it were me I wouldn't bother letting him around your baby once he/she is born because if he left once.. he could easily do it again... im sorry to hear that he left, i'm sure it's not easy being young & pregnant.. but you have to work with what you've got.. try looking into food stamps and/or wic til you can finish your CNA. & most CNAs do not make that much.. my friend only makes 9 a hr..

Hey girl. I'm kind of in the same boat. Fortunately for me the father is in the picture and is also stepping up. But only being 17 as well I'm also freaking out a little bit about how I'm going to pay for everything. (My mom is making me move out when I'm 1  I also live in Colorado and I'm also planning on working as a CNA over the summer. I'm hoping a place will hire me cause I will be showing by then. As far as Medicaid and Wic I was able to apply orfor both and im under 18! There are also lots of places that will help with expecting mothers. I'm going to be able to get a nurse to come onto my house every week until my baby is 2, places that give away cribs, clothes, diapers, and food all for free. Also there are places that can help you become independent and help you get an apartment. I'm from fort Collins so if you need more info just PM me. There are lots of resources if you just look! (:

I was rather large at 15 weeks and was still able to work a job that required me to lift 50+ lbs. You should be able to work, given they may take some of the responsibilities away, but being big doesn't really make much of a difference in my opinion unless your octomom   Now that I would think there would be issues. Give your body a little credit lol.

wic is great and as far as your baby daddy.. he will have to support that baby if he wants to or not it is important not to stress out about it a lot of women raise children without a man i did it as a teen and you can too, stay positive and everything will work out for you and your baby you just do what you need to do and he will be sorry eventually and if not then you and your baby dont need him.

I believe you can get WIC as long as your parents meet eligibility. If you have medicaid then all you have to do is show the card (at least where I live).

If you ever need to talk, feel free to message me. I'm 30 weeks pregnant - the father of my baby and I were together until I was about 25 weeks pregnant. A couple weeks before he dumped me I paid the $10 for him to replace his ID so he could start working, thinking it would benefit the baby. He hasn't contributed anything and has made it clear he doesn't plan to and won't pay me back any of the money I loaned him over the course of our relationship (even though he promised he would). Thank god for my tax return and my parents allowing me to live with them otherwise I don't know what I would do. It's a tough situation but you WILL figure it out
