Me too. I stick it in my meat and set it for the desired temp and walk away. However, not everyone is a foodie.

I normally always do, there have been a few times I felt it was taking too long and put it in, but it literally preheated like 1-2 minutes later lol.

No I don't. I just start timing when it's heated. Does it really matter?

Yes. Mostly for frozen pizzas and such.

Never. I cook a lot of things in the oven and unless its cookies or cupcakes, I never let it preheat. I've never had an issue with undercooked food...

Of course. I use recipes and I try to be precise with cook times and temps, but I do alter spices a lot.
