I used to shoot in 1.8 allll the time. But I recently learned that bumping it up to around 2.2 will still give you pretty much the same exact DOF but also give you sharper focus. With 1.8, it's harder to nail the focus. Just something I learned in the Photography thread   Of course you'll have to bump up your ISO or slow down your shutter speed to make up for the light you lose but it really does make a difference!

Yeah in my photography classes we have to shoot specifically at different apperatures for different assignments to get comfortable with all of them. I prefer 1.8 but I also am not into portraits photography so I prefer more abstract stuff >.< and 1.8 gives me that better most of the time.

I'd love to take a photography class   I like your style. It's different but I really like it. It's a nice change up from the clean edits.

The best thing about photography class was the challenge. You have to shoot very tight parameters and have to challenge yourself. I hope to take another this summer. I am going to be minoring in photography when I transfer schools, I would major in it... but I can't give up my womens studies. I tend to gravitate towards darker photos. I adore realism.
