Won't smurfing eat!!!!

I'm at wits end here.

LO is 16 months old and over the last 2-3 weeks has been eaten TERRIBLY. She just WON'T eat. Like I don't understand how she hasn't starved to death yet. She'll put the food in her mouth, chew a little then spit it out. With everything. I mean it, everything.

Snacks, meals, junk...if it's in her mouth it's chewed and spit back out!!

WHAT THE SmUrf!!! I feel like she's gunna starve.

Today she has ingested:

-2 salt and vinegar chips
-3 pecans
-ONE SINGLE cooked carrot
-ONE SINGLE spaghetti noodle
-one sausage patty

THAT'S IT. Advice? Should I be worried she's sick or something is hurting or is this just an annoying pain-in-the-ass stage?

It's an annoying pain in the ass phase. DD did it too, I swore she was going to starve. Like she would lick the sauce off of stuff but not eat anything.

My first thought is that she has hit a growth spurt. My kids always ate like freaking monsters before they went on one and then ate like birds once they hit it.

Have you spoken with her pediatrician too make sure she's not losing an excessive amount of weight? That would be my first step, if I were worried.

She just had an appointment yesterday and was the exact weight she was 2 weeks prior at her other visit. Ounces and all. So no gain or loss.

Has she grown at all?

No, same height she was at her 15 month check up...

Does she drink a lot of milk? That was an issue I had with my first, I'd give him too much milk throughout the day and obviously he'd be too full to eat anything lol.

If that isn't the issue, I buy a multi vitamin for her and make sure she gets a lot of fluids throughout the day. Just keep an eye on her, if she starts seeming lethargic at some point I'd take her back to her pedi.

my DD is doing this as we speak has been since she turned one.....she actually lost a pound then gained it back over 3 months and now i have a nother appt in 3 months to make sure she keeps gaining weight ....she more picky then anything and you have to choose your battles but most of the time i sit her in her highchair and dont let her out till she has eaten at least 1/4 of what i gave her ..and i always have snacks out for her
