Pointless vent

I am so sick of being my MIL's chauffeur that I'm about to pull my hair out.

Bil stole a bunch of money from her, so in order to keep her bills up she sold her only car (instead of making him pay her back). Well, now that she's sold her car because I'm a sahm she expects me to drive her around where she wants when she wants.

I don't currently have a car and am actually borrowing my moms car, and for some reason MIL doesn't understand that I can't drop everything and run when she calls.

A weekly/bi weekly trip to the grocery store would be understandable and doable, but she calls me every other day to run to the store for this and that.

End selfish vent.

Does she compensate at all? That would piss me off too. I'm the only one with a license in the family so my in-laws take advantage of me too sometimes. But not every day.

You don't sound like the selfish one to me... I mean, you don't even have a car right now either. Why can't she be a big girl and work this out herself? I can see maybe a few times asking you to give her rides, but every day? That's a bit excessive.

You have every right to be angry if she's treating you like that...

Nope. And I guess it wouldn't irritate me as much if she were actually involved in our lives and tried to be around us.

This b didn't even come to our bridal shower, baby shower, and only came to one of Dd's birthday parties.

I'm glad I dont sound selfish. I feel that way, but you're right. If it were ME needing rides she would pitch a fit.

After I had Dd before I was cleared to drive everyone was busy so I had to ask her for a ride to Dd's doctor appointment and she bitched the whole time. AND I gave her gas and bought her lunch.

I told her today that I didn't have any gas in the car. Even Dh doesn't want to be around her. She smokes like a freight train (and we aren't smokers) so every time she gets in the car it reeks after.

No, thank goodness when I do run an errand with her I try to do it while Dd is in school. If not she'll visit with my mom or grandma.

I feel bad because I don't take her around her, but honestly Dd isn't missing anything.

We moved a couple of hours away 2 years ago (we've recently moved back) and mil decided that she "wasn't going to be close with Dd because we took her away". So from then on it pissed me off that she said that. Which, we came into town every other weekend to visit family. And at the time sil was living with her so we would even go over to her house and she refused to come out of her room.
