I think he is weaning himself :(

DS2 turned 12 months on January 23rd. The last week or so, he has barely nursed. And if he does, it would only be once a day for like, 5 minutes. Then yesterday, I tried to nurse him before bed and he bit me (which he has only done a handful of times) I pulled away, said "No. That hurts" and let it stop hurting lol. Then tried to let him latch again and he bit me again. So I just took the boob away. He didn't nurse at all yesterday and so far today he hasn't even acted like he has wanted to  

It breaks my heart. I'm 8 week pregnant and I was really hoping to nurse him for a bit longer at least. I know 12 months is great, but I wanted so badly to nurse him longer than this.

 

Would it be weird if I offered for you to nurse my baby? Lol. We're still having issues.

I would so do it!! My milk hasn't dried up or anything (I've been leaking a bit now that he hasn't been nursing   ) and I would love to help other moms out!

i think my baby weened herself too at 9 months. she would bite me all the time and didn't seem like she wanted to nurse. so she has had formula for a month.

it made me sad too.

He has always been a big booby baby.. so him going more than a day without nursing is weird for him.

He is getting two more teeth in though, so I don't know if that has to do with it or not. He didn't do this when he got his first 2 teeth so I doubt it.

I've been pumping like a mad woman. I need to go pick up some Fenugreek. He is doing a bit better at getting the milk out of the boob, but then he just spits it on me and falls asleep.

Aww   have you been giving him the boob or bottle first? I've read that you need to give them the boob first so they have to work for it. Otherwise they will get lazy cause it's not as easy to get the milk out as it is in bottles. DS2 didn't use bottles until he was almost 9 months or so and that was for juice

He always gets the boob first. I just can't keep him awake. Lol.

Lol DS2 used to do that. I would poke his belly and kind of wiggle him around a bit to wake him up some.

I think he is immune to the poking since I've been poking at him for the last two weeks. Lol. I'm not giving up though. I have a feeling he'll get it in time.
