I was diagnosed with Lupus a couple days ago based off symptoms and family history. However, we won't have the blood test results for a few more days. I've always had kidney infections which resulted in kidney scarring and loss of kidney function in my left kidney (just partial for now)...

Here are the other symptoms:
* SEVERE kidney pain - it's worse than the pain I have with an infection
* Chest pain
* Fatigue
* Abdominal pain
* Horrible headaches
* Dizziness
* Nausea
* "Painful bladder" (interstitial cystitis) - I was diagnosed with this yesterday and put on a medication.
* Hot flashes! - Started two days ago
* Unable to urinate causing me to look bloated - I only go 2 times a day and if I drink enough to stay hydrated my bladder and kidneys hurt so much worse and I get really bloated
* Joint pain and cracking - my knees and wrists cause me a lot of pain, but my elbows, fingers, and ankles crack too.
* I don't know if it's just stress or what but I can not concentrate or remember what someone just said to me. Yesterday, I told my SO I needed to do my paper asap for school even though I turned it in the night before.... I told him I needed to do it 4 different times throughout the day and he had to remind me that I already did it and turned it in...
Those are my main symptoms and I was unsure if Lupus can cause all of that?! I don't know a thing about Lupus but they plan to fill me in when I go back to the doc for my results the 13th.

Also, a lot of these symptoms have been gradual, but the hot flashes and pain is severe and came on reallllllly fast. Is that normal for lupus?

Yes. Lupus can cause all of that.

I don't know which to be honest..

DLE is where your immune system attacks mainly your skin. SLE is where it affects your organs, most often the kidneys.

My skin hasn't been affected at all (no rash like they say happens), but my kidneys and bladder have been. My lungs have fluid around them as well and I have horrible chest pain. So IF it is lupus, it sounds like SLE...

Usually when people say they have lupus, it is SLE. I hope you can find treatment that works for you! My mother and son both have SLE. You'll be in my thoughts!

Thank you, I honestly know nothing about it yet...but I heard it isn't fun. How old is your son?
