Potty training
posted 7th Feb
My 2 year old has decided he wants to use the potty (so different than my daughter!) He is on day three of this decision, and he's had no accidents today -- except when he wanted to go poop. He did not want me to help him go to the potty, and was very offended when I offered him a diaper. How long did it take your child, if they were basically teaching themselves, to feel comfortable going poop on the potty? I definitely don't want to push it, but I do want to find a balance in case he wants to poop in his big boy underwear every day.

My daughter pooped from day 1. We never had poop issues.

The first one took about 2 weeks. Every time he pooped we dumped it in the toilet & had him flush & say good bye. Then he got a shower to clean up, is was easier than wipes. Then redressed.
The second one pooped in the toilet on the first day & never in his pants. Still to this day I think that's a miracle.

Okay. Thanks! It'll just come in his own time. He was offended all around that I would even attempt to get involved in his pooping process, haha. He's doing such an awesome job with going pee in the potty though, blows me away.

He didn't have a single accident yesterday, except when he wanted to poop. He's doing a great job. I'm just following his cues!
