Question for Divorced woman, Husband does not want Attorneys

Hello all
The husband and I are going to get a divorce and we are now currently separated. He does not want to spend money on attorney fees. He wants to get a petition he made up through an online service, he wants me to sign in front of a notary and he will have the divorce processed in cour without attorneys. I told him I want some kind of mediator, legal aide or attorney present, he is declining all options. Obviously, he does not want me to dip into his 401k or other work related savings. Although, I get full custody of my children, I feel uneasy about signing anything he made.. What is the best way you had a divorce??

Go to a lawyer if there are children or 401k's involved. Anything like that you want to make sure he's not taking advantage of you.

Get an Attorney. He is clearly trying to bully you out of what you deserve.

Itf he wants to forgo his option to have legal council that's his choice, but you should not take that route.
I would get an attorney and make sure he isn't screwing you. It sounds like he is just trying to keep you from getting any of his savings or retirement.

Definitely get an attorney. Divorce is doable without one but I wouldnt trust him to draft up the papers when children and other assets are involved.

He hates my guts at this point for breaing the marriage. Unfotunately, I Couldn't handle the jealously, controlling and emotional issues. It was a dead end marriage.

Ok he can hate you all he wants. You're still entitled to certain marital property and I would not trust someone who hates me to fairly separate our assets. You definitely need a lawyer.

just because he doesnt want legal representation doesnt mean you dont have to. Definitely I would.

We bought our house private and the homeowner was all offended when I got a lawyer.

If Im gonna get a lawyer for my house purchase, you damn sure Im going to get one for my divorce that has money and children involved.

Tell him he doesnt have to get legal representation, but you are going to, easy as that.
