re: recommend a carseat?

It rear faces MUCH longer than the My Ride would and it's a top rated seat. It's found at Target and Babies R Us. It's called the Graco Size4Me or HeadWise at Target, but at Babies R Us it's called the My Size. It's the SAME seat so I have no clue why Graco has different names for it...

My son has the alpha omega elite by safety first & i swear by it.. my son was in a car accident with dh. they flipped 3 times going 75, hit a tree... DS survived with barely any injuries. i ended up buying the exact one to replace the one he was in.

That was by pure luck. All seats are crash tested and just as safe as the next one. No one is better than another other then the fact some have higher rear facing limits or keep a preschooler harnessed a while longer.
