BD's license was suspended

He got a letter in the mail saying his license was suspended for not paying child support. He gave me $50 the other day to send to them, which I did and they got. He still owes over $1,000. He gave me a check for $600 last night to send to them. If he pays it in full, will they give him his license back? For some reason they keep sending all of his mail from domestic relations to my house. He doesn't live with me and for a while, we didn't talk or see each other so he didn't get half of them until recently. Should I call and tell them to stop sending me letters?

I hate dealing with domestic relations. They talk down to me all the time. I work part time, go to college and because I live at home they think they can talk to me how they want. I hate our enforcer. She never calls back either. Idk what I should do or even tell BD.

Why do they not just take it out of his check? Here, any money a father gives you is considered a gift unless the state is the one taking it from him.

He works under the table right now. Any money he gets, he gives to me to send to child support so it goes on the card. He doesn't have a reliable mailing address at the moment so it's easier to use my return address just in case something happens. Also, for some reason he never gets it right when he tries to send anything.

So, you have a child with him but don't live together and this is child support for a kid he has with someone else?

What? LO's his child. We don't live together. BD and I can't be in the same room as each other. We'd probably end up killing each other. He gives me the money for child support and I send it to the domestic relations office so it's on record. It doesn't count if I just say he gave me the money. It needs to be documented.

First of all unless he gives the child support registry a new address to send all his paperwork they will still send it to your house. To answer your question when he pays off his c/s. He will have to request a letter from them saying its paid off. Then he will have to take it to the DMV & pay a reinstatement fee

He doesn't have an address though. They actually told us he couldn't use my address when I first had to go for child support. I had to apply for it because I need daycare assistance and LO is on medical assistance. They were using his parents address but they complained and they stopped sending his mail there.

That's ok. It's a really confusing situation anyway and too stressful anymore.

...why would you tell them to stop sending them to you if there is no where else they can apparently send his mail? Unless you don't give a crap about whether he gets it sorted or not, it kind of has to keep goin there?

I did. It's too late though. They already suspended his license. He doesn't have anyway to call them until some time next week and now he has no way of getting to the office which is over an hour away. Idk if I should call and say he is starting to send money. Next week he's giving me another $600 which will get him 100% caught up.

I can't open it and I rarely see him anymore. I went about 2 months without seeing him and that's when all this smurf went down with them telling him he has court dates and stuff.

Once he pays it off the child support registry will send him a letter of clearance, which he will have to take to the dmv. I'm not sure about your state but he might be able to renew his license through the mail, I had to pay a $95 reinstatement fee when mine was suspended

I would just tell them to stop sending it to you that you are the other party in the case and they have ti screwed up. If he doesnt show up for C.S. court hearings it just goes more in your favor anyways lol
