What did your baby say first *poll*

I'm interested to know what your little ones said first.
Mummy or Daddy?

oh! and when did they say it?

I know Dexter wont be saying it yet at 4months But I'd love to get him to say dada first! purely because Dave is always at work and only really gets to see him on Sundays when he has the whole day off, oh and for his last feed on weekdays and then he puts him to bed.   They're so cute and giggly together   and it'd make Daves day to get hear his say dada first! so, In the hope that he might say it first, I'm just saying dada ALOT and making it fun singing dadadadada. haha! I must sound like a right looney!

most babies say daddy first just because the sylables dada baba and a few others are a babies first sounds developmentally and of course children understand words before they say them usually so dada usually comes first even if baby is not actually saying dada my son said mom mom first and only called me by that when he was upset and crying but at night my husband would do most of the feedings since he is a soldier and doesent get to see LO that much so at night he SCREAMED for his bottle DADA very clearly and knew who my husband was so it just depends but once your child starts babbling which they do at like three months really encourage sounding out everything to them and when they babble words that are not really words give them a word or example close to what they said it can help them or at least give you something to work on and facetime with LO is always good

I don't really count those as "first" words just because they are just trying to find their vocals and figure out how to make noises. My sons first words were baby sister and that was around 16 months
