You just have to let it come out. You can try aloe vera juice or a garlic shampoo to decrease the shedding but its perfectly normal to lose an insane amount of hair after you give birth.

After both of my pregnancies I had a bald spot at the front of my head. I'm not looking forward to it happening again.

oh my god, my hair was EVERYWHERE. I was told its normal, and it was also from not taking vitamins. I was very vitamin deficiant after i had DD. My hair is thinner now (not by much, i actually like it better) but it all grew back and stopped falling out. Take some vitamins, prenatals if you can. My friends would make jokes cause I would get in the car and when i would leave, my hair would be all over the seat, dashboard, etc. lol.

I lost probably a third of my hair after my last baby. It sucks but its normal and it will stop eventually.

This is what I have always understood as well
sadly for me I welcome any thinning process for my hair even if it was chunks as you describe tho it did scare me a bit at first when I saw my PP hair on a brush ....also make sure you are keeping up with nutrition because yes while its normal being pp can kill your diet and such and make it worse especially with hormones
