How many words

How many words can/could your child speak by 14 months? My daughter could say at least 30 words by now and used them on a regular basis... my son on the other hand can only say about 4 and only uses them when he feels like it lol. Which is more normal? His doctor doesn't seem concerned... but I am starting to be!

Boys tend to develop more slowly than girls. My son didnt speak more than a handful of words until a few months before his second birthday, but once he decided he wanted to talk he was consistently speaking in full sentences and repeating just about everything he heard.

My oldest was saying a lot of words around that age. I can't remember how many exactly though. And my youngest is 8 months old and says mama and dada (repeatedly)...and also gee gee (what all the grandkids call my mom) and hi. EVERY kid is different though and go at their own pace!

30 words? Wow! My DD is 14.5 months old and can say:
mama, dada, ball, buh bye, hi, Hannah (nana), puppy, and grandpa (bumpa). I think that's about it

My son is 15 months and says ZERO! He used to say mama... But he gave that up months ago... But if you want to know if he can growl like a Dino and pant like a dog... That would be a resounding YES! Ha
